Qatar winning bid means that Malaysia-Indonesia can only dream for hosting 2026 World Cup

Do you still remember the news that Malaysia would consider joint bid with Indonesia for 2026 World Cup host?

In mid-July 2010, Malaysia’s Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek told that a special desk would be set up in his ministry and the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports.

He said “It’s not impossible to host not only the World Cup but also other suitable and can be considered,” he was quoted after holding bilateral discussions with the Indonesian Youth and Sports Minister, Dr Ardi Malaranggeng.

With Qatar already confirmed as 2022 FIFA World Cup, others Asia country not be eligible to bid for the 2026 World Cup. This is based on FIFA newest host selection policy is that any country may bid for a World Cup, provided that their continental confederation has not hosted either of the past two World Cups.

So?? should we feel sad? I don’t know..but FIFA should be regret for introduced such new rule to become a host because the World might miss MEGA stadium for World Cup…maybe highest stadium in the World or most fragile stadium in the World?? hehe..
