I didn’t watch the match..so.. can’t comment! But..4-0 is a really good result for this new and young squad.

As Manchester United warm-up, two friendly matches will be held against the Warriors in preparation of their highly anticipated match against Manchester United on Saturday, 18 July 2009 at Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil.

Using 4-2-3-1 formation, coach K. Rajagobal proved that players from the U-23 squad can play with senior players such as Amri Yahyah, Indraputra and Norhafiz Zamani.

In the first half, Zimbabwe managed to keep the Malaysian players from scoring a goal up until the 44 minutes when they conceded a penalty through a foul on a Malaysian player in their penalty box. Shafiq Rahim kept his cool to convert the spot kick. By half-time, the tie was 1-0.

After the breather, coach Rajagobal injected the team with new players and made seven substitution in a space of 20 minutes. The team was rewarded with another three goals from Indraputra Mahayuddin in the 49 minutes, Farderin Kadir in the 85 minutes and Norshahrul Idlan Talaha in the 88 minutes. The match ended with Malaysia winning the tie, 4-0.

The second friendly against the same team will be held at Stadium Shah Alam on Tuesday, 14 July with a kick-off time of 5:30pm. Ticket for adult is RM10 while children have to pay RM5. – FAM
