Wow…the tickets really sell like goreng pisang panas!! Based on ProEvent information, 65,000 of the 85,000 tickets available had been sold and only RM58 tickets left!!

I can’t wait to see full pack stadium this July 18.

More than 65,000 tickets for the friendly match between English Premier League champions Manchester United and Malaysia XI at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on July 18, have been snapped up within a month after the tickets were on sale.

Organiser of the Manchester United Asia Tour 2009, ProEvents International Sdn Bhd managing director San Boon Wah said since the tickets were on sale last month, 65,000 of the 85,000 tickets available had been sold.

“What surprises us most is that all premium tickets priced at RM308, RM98, RM68, have been sold out. These also include student tickets — for children between the ages of three and seventeen years only,” he told Bernama here Wednesday.

“The only tickets available now for the first-leg of the tour are the RM58 tickets, with less than 20,000 of these tickets left.

“These free-seating tickets are selling like hot cakes since two or three days ago. We are selling around 2,000 to 3,000 tickets per day now.

“By next week, we can expect a full-capacity stadium on the match day,” he added.

Hence, San advised local and foreign spectators to purchase their tickets as early as possible and not at the eleventh hour.

Meanwhile, all 73,000 tickets for the second-leg Manchester United Asia Tour against the Indonesia All Stars at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on July 20, had been sold out by July 2, three weeks in advance of the friendly, according to the Manchester United official website, www.manutd.com.
