Malaysia vs Manutd – Malaysia goes for youth in match against Man United
Manchester United was officially the Club World Cup Champion and mighty Malaysia team rank 157th in the World. Can you see the different?? Since our national coach, K.Rajagopal thinks that the team that ranks 157 is current senior squad and not our young squad…. He decides to field young Malaysia team in the match against Manutd this July. It’s supposed to mix some senior players with under 23 squad and under 19 squad.
The final squad that going to face Manutd is not the same team that rank 157th in the World but it will be the STILL UNDEFEATED MALAYSIA squad that will gives everything that Sir Alex looking for in their pre-season Asia Tour….SELF CONFIDENCE in front goal & NEW GOAL SCORING MACHINE!!
Actually I don’t care about who is going to play for Malaysia against Manutd. I only care about who will coming this July. I am a little disappointed that Cristiano Ronaldo not coming but to see Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs were good enough. However, I hope that what happen in 2001 will not be repeated at this time.
Malaysia young squad (de-javu isn’t it??) PROUDLY losing 0-6. But they don’t feel humiliated at all. Just after 90 minutes whistle were blown, all Malaysia players including the substitute rushing into Manutd bench for jersey exchange!! It makes David Beckham looking shock and run for his life. 1-2 weeks after that match…one of the players still is proud that he got David Beckham jersey! How about those 6 goals that should make them feel ashamed of themselves???
If you really want to give experience to young players …please not through losing…and losing. Teach them to experience success in such a young age and make them humiliated in every match they lose…then they will hate to lose a match.
Manchester United is my favorite football club but Malaysia is my country. So, I am going to wear Malaysia jersey and be proud of it. I don’t want Malaysia to beat Manutd because it is not good for Manutd preparation next season but I also don’t want Manutd to beat Malaysia because it is not good for our young players’ self-confidence. Draw is the result I am looking for.

NATIONAL coach K. Rajagobal has made a bold move to have only four senior players in the Malaysian Selection squad for the friendly with English champions Manchester United on July 18.
The seniors are defenders Horhafiz Zamani Misbah (KL Plus) and V. Thirumurugan (Kedah) and strikers Indra Putra Mahayuddin (Kelantan) and Amri Yahyah (Selangor).A total of 28 players have been called up and they will be tested against Liberia on Sunday and July 14 before Rajagobal selects his best for the Manchester United match.
Rajagobal said it will be a perfect opportunity for his players to gauge their standard against a top club.
“I am aware that we have some good senior players but I rather test my Under-23 players in the match as they are preparing for the Laos Sea Games,” said Rajagobal yesterday.
“Some of our senior players have played against top English clubs before and I believe that the youngsters should be given the chance now.“I hope the seniors understand my decision as I want my Under-23 players to be exposed extensively to top class matches ahead of the Sea Games.”
The National Under-23 side have been doing well after having recorded some impressive results of late.
They defeated arch rivals Singapore (3-1) before edging Indonesia 1-0 in recent friendly matches.
