Football legend Pele has spoken of his love for English clubs and, in particular, the teams that have been witness to extended periods of great success, such as Liverpool and Manchester United.

He then went on to claim that the Premier League is the “most exciting league” in the world.

The Brazilian told Sport magazine, “I have always liked English teams.

“In the 1970s ad 80s I was a Liverpool fan. I don’t know why, perhaps because they were the top team back then. In the last ten or 15 years I have enjoyed following Manchester United the most.

“They play the game the right way and, in Brazil, Manchester United are far and away the most popular team.

“The Premier League is the most exciting league to watch in the world, there’s no doubt about that at all.”
