In 1995, I am not English Premier League fan. Local league is the one that I always prefer. My favorite team was my hometown team, Kedah Hijau Kuning. I am so close with Kedah team and even some of their players were my friends because we were played together in school tournament.

So, when Manutd comes to Malaysia to face Selangor Selection in 1995, I just don’t care. Not because I hate Manutd but as a ‘sengkek’ student at that time, the ticket, RM20 was quite expensive when the normal ticket price for Malaysia league was around RM 6 ~ 10. Even the ticket for Malaysia Cup final only RM10..Siigghhhh…

Furthermore, Cantona was not coming because he is still under suspension for his famous kungfu kick and the only player that make me watching Premier League, Ryan Giggs was also not coming due to injury.

Manchester United comes with a bunch of unknown young kids and they were scheduled to play 2 matches against Selangor Selection for GLAMOIR INVITATIONAL CUP that includes top import players in Malaysia League!!! RM20 to watch young kids??…Nooo…

But, when Manutd has won the first match 4-1 against Selangor Selection, the second match ticket price has been reduce to RM10 only. RM10 is affordable, so we were searching for the ticket at Palace Hotel & also a famous mamak restaurant but the ticket were sold out!!

Since me already in the mood to watch the game, we try to find the ticket at Shah Alam Stadium just before the game and we got it.

It was quite an interesting match. I remember Kedah’s player, Jan Janostak have quite a good match although there were losing 2-0 in that match.

Months after these Manchester United vs Selangor Selection match, the unknown Manutd’s young players has been roamed Premier League and at the end of that season..they has been crowned as Premier League champion and were known as “FERGIE FLEDGLING” and going all the way to win a treble in 1999!!!..Six years after that..there were coming again and I have to spend RM80 to watch the same players that I though just a waste of money in 1995.

Do you know who were playing on that day?? There were Gary Nevilles, Phill Nevilles, Paul Scholes, David Beckham & Nicky Butt.
Yeah.. I felt lucky to watch them playing in Shah Alam Stadium when there were still unknown to the world!!

Lets go to Bukit Jalil Stadium this July whoever Manutd brings along to play with them!! You will never know..
