Beckham oh Beckham..what a great player!

I really miss David Beckham wearing red shirt. He is a truly professional player that always give his best to any team that he played. It is hard to find a player like him that can perform greatly in 4 different leagues.

He is one of the best in English Premier League… performed greatly in Spanish La Liga…major attraction in Major League Soccer and now..he already scored 2 goals in 4 appearances with AC Milan. It wasn’t easy to any player especially at his age to do that.

Salute!

Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star David Beckham hopes an abductor injury which cut short his most impressive performance so far for AC Milan tonight does not turn out to be serious.
The England midfielder asked to be replaced in the 71st minute of his side’s 1-1 draw with Genoa after scoring the opener with a stunning free-kick in the first half, but is still confident of being fit to face Lazio on Sunday.

“It’s the abductor. We’ll have to see how it is tomorrow,” he told PA Sport.

“I felt it before the game and then again just before half-time. I got to 20 minutes in in the second half and I felt it a little bit more.

“It’s painful, but hopefully I will be fit for the game at the weekend.”

Record breaking Van der Sar..unbeaten for 1,032 minutes

Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar set a new English top-flight record for clean sheets when the champions crushed West Brom 5-0 at the Hawthorns on Tuesday.

The Dutchman has gone 1,032 minutes without having to pick the ball out of his net in the Premier League, beating the previous record of 1,025 set by Chelsea’s Petr Cech in 2004-05.

“The most important thing is the win, but, of course, it is great for the team to get the record. I just needed to keep the concentration levels high and fire up the defenders and midfielders,” Van der Sar told BBC Radio Five Live.

“When I saw 85 minutes on the clock I was happy but the most important thing was that we got the three points.”

In keeping an 11th consecutive league clean sheet, the 38-year-old Van der Sar also helped United set a new top-flight record, edging past the 10 in a row racked up by Chelsea in the same season.

The last time United’s defence was breached in the league was in the 48th minute of their 2-1 defeat by Arsenal when Samir Nasri scored and manager Alex Ferguson paid tribute to his injury-hit back line.

“I am proud of them. They have been fantastic in this run,” Ferguson said.

“Edwin van der Sar has had a fantastic career, but he was really pleased to get this record.

“You look at him and what happened has really thrilled him.”

Van der Sar celebrated with a raised fist at the end but his hopes of edging past Cech were nearly ended early in the second half when West Brom’s Ryan Donk struck the woodwork.

What a wonderful mark by Van der Sar. He must have a great feeling to break Petr Cech record. This is another prove that goalkeeper can got better by age. All the defenders especially Vidic played an important role but it needs a good goalkeeper to give command from the end of the field to make sure his wall always in good shape and position.
