My Manutd

If Malaysia's player have habits like Giggsy… we will never been in 156th place in FIFA ranking!

Ryan Giggs fears that home-grown British youngsters could be blocked from emulating his dazzling career by foreign imports.

Giggs was at the forefront of Manchester United’s golden generation of the early-to-mid Nineties that also included David Beckham, Paul Scholes, the Neville brothers, Nicky Butt and Wes Brown.

He even went on the wagon for a spell around his 30th birthday and claims if he could have his time again he wouldn’t touch booze at all.

“You have to do everything you can to be a top player,” he said. “Make sacrifices. Players don’t drink as much now as they did when I first got into the team.

“I have never been a big drinker but if I went back to being 17 again I wouldn’t touch it. I have a few drinks in the summer but not much. When I was younger I would go out on a Saturday night and get away with it. I didn’t drink for 18 months or so when I was about 30. I wanted to change my game.”

Giggs’ only injury problems have been with his hamstrings – a common curse for quick players. But he has beaten the problem in recent years.

“Fortunately, I’ve never had an operation in my life but I’ve always been conscious of my hamstrings, it is always at the back of my mind,” he said.

“I used to always get problems when I was flying, when I was playing well and I felt good and I was sprinting to the maximum.

“But I don’t think I have ever really sprinted since I was 25. Not like when I was younger. Also I started doing yoga. It’s a programme more tailored towards footballers to strengthen you.”

What has also helped Giggs is the fact that while he certainly liked a night out when he was younger, he never chased the celebrity spotlight in the same way as old pal Beckham.

He told Icons magazine: “I didn’t embrace it like Becks did. He was comfortable with it. I was comfortable with the football, with the photo-shoots, but I was never comfortable with people following me. I wanted to go out with my mates and enjoy myself. I felt it would have affected my football.”

Giggs holds up team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo as an example of a modern player who has embraced every aspect of sports science to ensure he is always at his peak.

“Cristiano is dedicated in every part of his lifestyle and the people he has around him,” said Giggs.

“He has his diet, the way he looks after himself. He goes to the gym. He leads his life for football. He plays every game for us so he has got to be like that. – Daily Express UK

Read this and you know why Ryan Giggs can maintain his football quality until today and Malaysia football were such a LOSER. It is quite unbelievable to know that top players actually keep their diet so tightly and didn’t drink for more than a year just because he love football so much!!

I will always salute Ryan Giggs..he is the BEST FOOTBALLER IN THE WORLD..THE LIVING LEGEND!

Transfer News

Ronaldo for Real this January??

Real Madrid appear to have reopened the war of words with Manchester United over the future of Cristiano Ronaldo, breaking the uneasy truce that stood between the clubs. Reports in Spain yesterday quoted Pedro Trapote, a Real Madrid director and ally of Ramón Calderón, the president, claiming a gentlemen’s agreement had been struck between the Barclays Premier League champions and the La Liga champions that a transfer would be concluded during the close season.

El Mundo Deportivo, a daily sports paper, claims Trapote made the comments to reporters after Real’s 2-0 defeat by Barcelona at the Nou Camp last weekend, when the director also claimed that details of the transfer had not been made public because all parties had agreed to remain silent about the deal.

“If you are asking me what we are going to do now then I would tell you that we have already signed the best player for the summer,” Trapote is quoted as saying. “The best of the best. It is Cristiano, there is no other. It is better that we do not say anything at the moment, though.”

When pressed about his reluctance to say more at a time when Real are struggling and good news would be welcome, Trapote responded: “It is best to not say anything because there are some clauses that prevent us from announcing it. For us, it would be a good time, but we should not do that. But it is not bad, eh?”

I don’t believe this rumour at all. It must be another Real Madrid jokes. After losing to Barcelona 2-0 last week, they try to divert all the focus to some other news. Huh!!

Yeah…keep talking about Ronaldo and you might losing another good players. After Robinho..then??

Malaysia League

AFF Suzuki Cup – The same old Malaysia

Malaysia 2 – 3 Vietnam

A fortuitous long-range goal by substitute Nguyen Vu Phong four minutes from time saw Vietnam edge Malaysia at the Surakul Stadium in Phuket tonight, boosting their hopes of reaching the semi-finals of the AFF Suzuki Cup.

Indra Putra Mahayuddin appeared to have given the Malaysians a share of the points when he blasted home an indirect free-kick in the 85th minute.

But just moments later, Phong lofted a long ball from his own half that bounced over the head of Malaysian goalkeeper Helmi Eliza Elias for his second goal of the game.

Pham Thanh Luong opened the scoring for Vietnam after 16 minutes with an opportunistic strike, but Indra Putra netted a controversial equaliser four minutes later before Phong fired his side ahead in the 72nd minute.

Still the same team with the same old losers players such as Indra Putra, Hairuddin Omar, Hardi Jaafar & Shukor Adan. So..no wonder still the same result!…(plus stupid goal..)
